Membership: Initiate New Member's only meetings to introduce them to HLPT (Mission, Vision, core, Committee Activities, etc.) - Membership Drives. Develop Membership Drive initiatives that will engage participation and commitment of HLPT Leadership Team. |

Education: Coordination of HLPT/RJR Achievements Award Program for ESL Students. Organization of Motivational Speeches to different Schools about the importance of Education. Representation of Education Affairs impacting the Hispanic Community of the Piedmont Triad. Direct participation with the Scholarship Committee on defining guidelines and plans for the HLPT Scholarship Program. |

Cultural Events: The Cultural Events Committee plans and presents events that celebrate and honor Hispanic culture, particularly programs for young people and families. The chair is Jon Sundell; co- chair is Carla Morales Clayton. Major annual or ongoing activities of the Cultural Events Committee include: Lanterns of Hope (Linternas de la Paz) Day of the Children, Day of the Books (Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros) Bilingual Storytime (Hora de Cuento Bilingüe) Multicultural Writing Project (Proyecto de Escritura Multicultural) The committee also organizes the children’s stage for Fiesta and assists with Hispanic Heritage Week during October at Barnes & Noble Booksellers. |

Fund raising: The Fund raising committee is dedicated to raise funds for the Hispanic League of the Piedmont Triad. Every year the committee sends out more than 300 hundred letters requesting sponsorship for the League. We also prepare proposals to request grants from the foundations and agencies dedicated to grant funds for non-profit organizations. Throughout the year we look for possible sponsors. We call them to remind them about their donations to the League. After we receive the donation, we send out a thank you letter, acknowledging the receipt of the donation. Our goal is to raise enough funds for the League to be able to offer the Hispanic community with programs and services. |

Scholarship: Coordination and Organization of Scholarship Program through our Administrative Partner. Coordination of advertising and information flow to all potential candidates. Organization of Scholarship Ceremony to give awarded candidates their official recognition and funds. Preparation of package material to present to potential scholarship sponsors. Expand HLPT Scholarship Program to other Counties and with different Scholarship Categories. |

Fiesta: Responsible for the coordination and organization of our Hispanic Multicultural Festival in Downtown Winston-Salem. The activities include: Planning & Budgeting Recruiting of Volunteers Coordination of activities Execution of Festival Thank you Celebration and Acknowledgements. |

Public Relations: Receive and review incoming mail and respond to subject matters as appropriate. Serve as HLPT Spokesman when appropriate. Respond to complaints and ensure image of the HLPT is carried with integrity at all times Attend key strategic meetings where HLPT presence and follow up is necessary. |

Projects and Programs: Coordination , analysis and evaluation of all new proposed projects and ventures for the HLPT. Follow up on projects not directly organized by the HLPT but agreed to offer support. (I.e. Free Clinic, St. Leo's camp sponsorship, and others). |

The activities include: Planning & Budgeting Recruiting of Volunteers Coordination of activities Execution of Event Thank you Celebration and Acknowledgements. |

Advertising: The advertising committee of HLPT is responsible for creating new ways to promote and expose the different activities coordinated by the league. Including the creation and coordination of bi-monthly HLPT newsletter "En Contacto", flyers, posters, brochures, and advertisement of membership drives. Two of the largest advertising opportunities each year are "Spanish Nite" and "Fiesta." These two events continue to grow in number and attendance yearly. |

Health and Wellness: Coordination of activities related to improving the Health & Wellness of our Community. Also for this term, the coordination of the HLPT Christmas Giving Activity. |

Treasurer: HLPT Finance Management and Reporting to HLPT Board. Responsible for yearly budgeting and tax submittal. Includes Bimonthly presentation of expense report vs. budgeted allocations. Fiesta '01 Budget Coordination, Approval and Management. |
